My life just took a major turn, and it was pretty intense but I am pleased to say that I’m moving on without (pretty much) skipping a beat. I’ve gotta say, I definitely bow down to the goddess of synchronicity because I’ve met some amazing people who have swooped in at the right time.
So, after nearly two years, I quit my day job. You might think that all I do is yoga, and it used to be that way, but I like to have diversity with my work, and role in life. It was a fairly interesting job, super stable, low key, and comfortable, but I quit because I felt like I had nowhere to grow in the company compounded with the distinct feeling of being undervalued by the owners on a level that was unsurmountable.
Leaving left me in a mysterious place of not knowing what was coming next. At the same time, I knew that if it truly was the right time to leave, I knew that new opportunities would arise. First, I had to walk away and can you believe that two days after quitting the job, I received an offer from a woman whom I had just met, literally, the day before I told my boss I’d had enough. She asked if I’d like to help with her small company.
The business she runs is pretty much a successful model of my dream business, were I to go merge my yoga teaching with fashion, and start a company. I could hardly believe it, but I smile knowing that I did believe it was a gift of synchronicity from the godmothers. It certainly felt like a sign that I was on the right track with my life’s purpose, and it was a relief.
It’s true, that I’m not making as much money as I had been in my other job but I am gaining the time, space, and work that I need to allow the next manifestation of my life to develop. From my perspective, it is a new way to remember that money can be a measuring tool but it’s not the only tool, and definitely not the best tool, for measuring progress.
Do you want to know something personal?
I believe that I will improve my financial wellbeing as well as my physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
Do you know how I will do that?
I will improve my life by being more active and more available to gather with friends and teach yoga, spend time with my dog and kids, and support live music and local art.
First, I’m spending the weekend at a friend’s tiny cottage in her backyard. It’s reminding me that I don’t have to travel far to take a retreat and give “what will be” in my life, the time and space it needs to grow.
It’s also giving Violet room to grow. She is becoming such a well-behaved dog!
Wish me abundance as I journey into the next stage of this amazing life!
