Diary of a Yogini (with video!)

0059D29F-B6F0-4005-8BAB-B598CFA7BD66

So I had this idea a while ago to start a home yoga video series called Diary of a Yogini in Her Habitat and I think it’s one of those ideas that is actually going to become a thing. You know it takes a while sometimes to see if it’s just a fleeting thing or if there’s actually a sustaining force that makes the idea work with some kind of substance.

After a couple of failed attempts at setting up a great camera angle, I’ve managed to stay inspired because, well, this is what I want to do in my life!

You see, I live in a 400 square foot private studio that feels a bit like a bird’s nest. I like living here, and actually prefer the tiny and efficient arrangement to a bigger apartment or house at this point in my life. Yoga at home brings so much quality to my life, and in this small space I have found two places to practice that just so happen to also be accessible for filming.

I was thinking that sharing my yoga at home might also inspire you to do the things that improve your quality of life at home too.

I do need to upgrade my video equipment so you can support me on www.patreon.com/courtneybell!

In the meantime, until I generate enough money for some upgrades, I hope you enjoy the intention behind the videos. I’ve been enjoying sharing my practice and have come to some greater understandings about how important it is to be healthy in mind, body, heart, and home.

In this first “episode” of Diary of a Yogini in Her Habitat, I practice handstands at the wall and standing balance poses with piano music playing in the background. The essential sequence (with slight variation) is:

Wide Legs Fold and Twist

Skandasana Turns

Handstand at Wall

Pyramid

Nataraj One

Lamp Post

Upward Hand to Foot Twist

Handstand at Wall

*Pyramid

*Nataraj One

*Lamp Post

*Upward Hand to Foot Twist

Standing Backbend

Toe Mudra

Garland Fold

Follow my journey!
